Playing with Cork Putter Grips on the Scottish PGA tour
PGA Professional Garry Forrester Founded ‘The St Andrews Golf School’ in 2008 providing first class golf instruction at The Home of Golf in St Andrews, Scotland. Graduating through the PGA training program in 1997 Garry’s coaching journey has seen him travel to Hong Kong and the Philippines. 2001 in Hong Kong is where Garry first met Marc Boggia, Director of The Cork Tree company teaching within his John Jacobs Golf Schools. Marc and Garry remained good friends and when an opportunity to become Scotland distributor for www.corkputtergrips.com Garry didn’t hesitate to take up the chance. “As soon as I heard about them and felt the grips in my hands I knew they were a fantastic product. The story behind the concept is amazing along with the features and benefits too good for the golfer to miss out on.
Last year, the first day of putting a cork grip on my putter I took Marc out on the world famous ‘Old Course’ where I shot 69 (-3), also last year won the PGA Scottish Region Golfplan Pro-Captain qualifier at Haggs Castle (with Captain Mick Cordner) scoring -6 and getting to the grand final in Turkey and most recently scored my best round of 67 (-5) on the ‘Old Course, St Andrews in strong windy conditions. My putting has improved tremendously as a consequence of the cork putter grip!”.
Formerly a top 20 player, Garry is still competitive on the PGA Scottish Region ‘Tartan Tour’ schedule and uses the ‘Bandit’ grip.”
“Happy to be one of the leaves of The Cork Tree!”
‘The feel of the Cork Tree grip is great, soft yet solid. My palms can often get a little sweaty when I play in the heat but there is absolutely no slipping with this grip”
“Great feel and different from any other grip for all the right reasons”
